Open House: Stormwater Management at the Columbia Golf Course
Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Learn more about a new project to capture and treat stormwater runoff in and around Columbia Golf Course and Park in Northeast Minneapolis.
Join other Northeast Minneapolis community members at an open house hosted by the Mississippi Watershed Management Organization, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) and the City of Minneapolis next Tuesday, October 1 from 5 p.m.–7 p.m. at the Columbia Golf Club.
The partners will share information on their joint effort to improve water quality, mitigate flooding, improve ecological systems and enhance recreational opportunities in Northeast Minneapolis as part of the Northeast Stormwater Management Initiative.
A presentation is scheduled at 5:30 pm, but stop by at any time to meet staff, learn more about the project and get answers to questions.
Project Goals:
• Increase golf course playability and park use. (Note: The project does not propose changes to the number of golf course holes.)
• Reduce flooding in the golf course and surrounding neighborhoods.
• Reduce pollutants entering into the Mississippi River.
• Improve habitat and ecology of the park and golf course.
