MPCA Smart Salting for Property Managers

New MN Pollution Control Agency Smart Salting Certification for Property Management
This class will be offered online only. Take the class from wherever you are on you computer or smartphone!
Directions on how to participate online will be emailed to you after you register.
This class is for management-level property managers or local government decision-makers learn how to save money and protect water resources using less salt and still maintain safe paved surfaces.
Cost: Free but registration required.
Topics include:
- Environmental, infrastructure, and vegetation impacts of salt
- Smart Salting and other sustainable winter maintenance strategies
- Educating your workforce
- Working with contractors
- Legal issues
- Communicating with property users
At the end of training, there will be a voluntary certification test to become MPCA Smart Salting Certified for Property Management.
Funding for the workshop is provided by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency through a grant from the U.S. EPA, Section 319 Nonpoint Source Management Fund.
