Sarah Nassif has served as MWMO’s Artist in Residence since 2021. She invites us to view water and habitat protection as a creative challenge, offering a fresh perspective on watershed work. In this role, she designs programming and fosters conversations that help staff and community members engage with complex environmental issues in innovative, accessible ways. Sarah also developed and is now implementing the Creative Watershed Plan.
Sarah leads Weaving Water Workshops with partners and community groups across the watershed. These fiber-arts gatherings invite people to connect with the Mississippi River, learn hands-on skills like spinning and dyeing, and share stories that build community and understanding.
