Smart Salting Level 2 is a certification for public and private organizations to assess your salt use and take steps to minimize it.

Join us for this online, interactive workshop for winter maintenance leadership: public works managers, supervisors, business owners and other lead staff. Learn how to use the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency’s new, web-based Smart Salting Assessment tool (SSAt) and start the process for your organization to become Smart Salting Level 2 certified.

Learn how to use the SSAt to assess salt use and take steps to minimize it by reviewing past and present winter maintenance practices. You will also learn how to create reports for internal training, budgeting, and communications. At the end of training, you will be ready to submit your Minnesota Pollution Control Agency Smart Salting Level 2 Certification.
