Healing Water Garden: Opening Celebration

Join us to celebrate the opening of a unique healing space supporting the health of both the Lake St community and the Mississippi River.

Discover a unique garden tucked right into Lake Street. Its terraced water feature captures and cleans onsite stormwater, then reuses it to nourish native plants that support pollinators and wildlife. Flowing water, small waterfalls, and inviting seating areas create a calming space shown to reduce stress and support wellbeing—an oasis within Minneapolis’ South Side Green Zone.

Stop by to meet the team behind the project, explore native plants, and enjoy a live reading of a Mississippi River–themed poem by world‑renowned poet and former Minneapolis Council Member Andrea Jenkins.

Complimentary refreshments from local Lake Street restaurants will be provided.
