Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Residents are invited to a community celebration to mark the completion of a new, high-tech stormwater treatment facility that will help keep pollution out of the Mississippi River.
The event celebrating the completion of the St. Anthony Regional Stormwater Treatment and Research System will be held Thursday, July 21, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6 p.m. Exhibits, kids’ activities, snacks and light refreshments will be provided.
The facility, located on the border of Minneapolis and St. Anthony Village, uses several technologies to capture and clean polluted stormwater runoff. In addition to improving water quality, it will serve as a testbed for new treatment technologies.
Those who attend the event can learn more about the facility itself as well as tips for preventing pollution at home. The City of St. Anthony Village, Mississippi Watershed Management Organization and WSB & Associates are co-sponsoring the event.
