Pathways Internship
Come intern at the MWMO! Get valuable experience and help us protect and improve the water quality of the Mississippi River.
We are currently seeking an intern to work from May 2023–August 2023, 20-40 hours per week to help carry out the activities of the water resource monitoring program.
This internship is available only for those who have completed a conservation employment program such as the Mississippi River Green Team, Conservation Corps, Tree Trust, Urban Roots, Mississippi River Fellows, Friends of the Mississippi River Environmental Stewardship Institute, or another equivalent program.

Examples of Duties
- Install, operate, and maintain monitoring equipment in the field that are necessary to implement the monitoring program.
- Monitor stormwater discharge at key outlets to the Mississippi River and main stem Mississippi River.
- Collect water quality samples for stormwater monitoring.
- Record the monitoring data regularly and accurately in the database for water quality analysis.
Qualifications
- Be 18 years of age by start of the internship.
- Completed a conservation employment program such as the Mississippi River Green Team, Conservation Corps, Tree Trust, Urban Roots, Mississippi River Fellows, Friends of the Mississippi River Environmental Stewardship Institute, or another equivalent program.
- Enrolled in or exploring post-secondary education. Interest in the field of engineering, biology, conservation, water resources, earth science, environmental science or a related field.
- A valid driver’s license preferred.
