Former Mississippi River Green Team member Kue Thao is now an Outdoor Education Intern with Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board at North Mississippi Regional Park. She spends time at Kroening Interpretive Center, assisting in summer camps and community programs such as Neighborhood Night, in which she is involved in planning the theme and related activities.
Working with kids is a favorite component of her job. She likes teaching them about birds, the Mississippi River and insects — especially dragonflies. She said her time on the Green Team prepared her to guide groups through the prairie. This fall, Kue will start 11th grade at Patrick Henry High School. She plans to continue exploring her interests and build on the experience that she has from working in the environmental field.
