Emergency Response Fund

Purpose:
 Provide a readily accessible source of funds for the member organizations for the purpose of facilitating a response to immediate threats to water resources in the Mississippi Watershed Management Organization (MWMO) watershed.

Justification:
The MWMO developed the emergency response fund program pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Chapter 103B.201 and the Joint and Cooperative Agreement between the member organizations that require the MWMO to protect water quality.

Objectives:
  • Provide financial assistance to member organizations for responding quickly to emergencies that impact water resources
  • Promote the creation of emergency response and recovery plans by the member organizations to ensure eligibility for emergency response funds

    • Program Specifics:
    Funds will be allocated as emergencies arise; consequently, funds may not be allocated in a given calendar year.

    Audience / Partnerships:
    MWMO member organizations.
