Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC)
Responsibilities of the
Citizen Advisory Committee:
The Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) meets at the request of the
Mississippi Watershed Management Organization (MWMO) Board of Commissioners
to assist in managing the water resources of the MWMO.
Duties of the CAC include:
Reviewing funding proposals (including Capital Improvement Projects
and Stewardship Fund Grants)
Reviewing the MWMO's annual budget
Participating in strategic planning for the watershed

Representation of the Committee:
Open positions may be applied for and filled at anytime. Existing
appointments are renewed annually.

CAC Membership Policy:
One year terms, renewable annually in January
Geographic Representation
When applicable, preference will be given to:
- Residents of the MWMO
- Residents of a subwatershed flowing into the MWMO
- Employer or employee in the MWMO
- Employer or employee from a subwatershed flowing into the MWMO
At-large Representation:
- Up to two at-large positions may be filled by residents outside
of the MWMO's boundary
- People with diverse expertise and background outside of water
resources are encouraged to
apply (education, business, etc.)
Application Details:
Interested residents should complete a CAC application. Resumes
and letters of recommendation are not necessary. Applications will
be accepted year-round and open positions will be filled throughout
the year. Applications to replace incumbents are due by December
15th.
Applications are reviewed by the MWMO staff and Executive Committee
and are approved by the Executive Committee.
